Spooktober

Greetings! I want to start off by apologizing for this delay in my bi-monthly blog. Some days, I just don't know where the time goes! And these are crazy times, for sure. Last week, when I started to write this blog, I was thinking about the recent story about the disappearing fighter jet over Williamsburg County, the close call with another possible government shutdown, and then the ousting of the Speaker of the House of Reps in historic fashion. On top of all of that were the strikes by the Autoworkers, SAG, and the Kaiser Healthcare workers. It was already enough to keep anyone's head spinning! But then, things took an even more perilous turn with the eruption of war in Israel over the weekend. In my last blog, I wrote about 9/11 and how I am still haunted by that day. Israel experienced its own 9/11 on Saturday. I am praying for peace and a miracle in the war-torn country.

Speaking of hauntings and turning towards lighter topics, let us not forget that October also means Halloween! The decorations are being donned and children in the low country are polishing off their costumes. In the spirit of Halloween, we have some tricks and treats up our sleeves. We are excited to announce the launch of Skinvive, the newest product by the manufacturers of Botox and Juvederm. Skinvive acts as a skin moisturizer. Yes, it involves injections, but instead of applying a topical moisturizer, the effects of which last hours, Skinvive will last up to 6 months. Kelly worked her magic on me last week, and I AM IN LOVE with this injectable. It was uncomfortable at worst, and certainly less painful than other fillers. Skinvive, based on my own experience, is effective in addressing crepiness of the skin and very fine lines, which other fillers usually fall short of addressing. While Skinvive is an excellent addition to skin rejuvenation, the combination of CO2 laser treatments with Skinvive really packs a punch for skin texture. So, for Halloween, we are offering 25% off of each syringe of Skinvive (about a $75 savings per syringe) with the purchase of any CO2 laser package. And yes, this special can be combined with Alle points!

And here's another exciting Halloween treat... When Leah left us last year as a full-time employee, she would sporadically still come in to help in the OR or for some Microblading clients. However, as her travel assignments took her farther and farther away, we haven't been able to offer permanent makeup. I am excited to announce that we are again able to offer permanent make-up as another service, but with a newer technique called Nanoblading. We will be offering Nanoblading consults every Friday and will be performing the treatments on Thursdays. But I bet you are wondering about the difference between Microblading and Nanoblading. Traditionally, Microblading is performed with a small blade to cut the skin to create hair-like strokes. This causes a degree of scar tissue and potential damage which, over time, can compromise the longevity of the Microblading results. Not every client is a candidate for Microblading, such as individuals with very oily skin. Nano Brows, on the other hand, are created with a rotary tattoo machine with no cutting or slicing involved! This means that this technique is much gentler on your skin for better and longer-lasting results AND Nanoblading is suitable for ALL skin types. You get the natural “hair stroke” look without the pain and/or tissue damage! Please call the office for additional details and we will be adding more information about Nanoblading to our website!

I hope everyone has a great week. As many of you know, my daughter and I saw Taylor Swift in Kansas City this summer, and I am a big fan. So in Swifty fashion, and in the spirit of Halloween Hauntings, I will leave you with this little music video!

‘Til next time,

Heidi Williams
